Garashir is one of my favourite ships ever. I recently fell into a fanfiction rabbit hole and discovered a delightful combination of tropes: cultural misunderstandings and sugar daddy. There is so much great world building and character studies and canon divergence to explore. (and fanfiction to write if only I had the time)
It does explain her freedom! And her care free attitude. I think the adaptation that shows it the best is the one with Catherine Tate and David Tennant. I have more thoughts on this, but this isn't the time or place for it.
